Job Title: Staff Accountant Reports to: Business Manager Availability: Immediately Posting Date: March 24th, 2011 Summary: Manage processes for timely completion of financial reports, A/P check processing, full cycle A/R, trade and other related financial duties. Compile and maintain financial accounting records, accounts payable and accounts receivable records, and vendor contracts. Financial Statements: •Assist with the preparation of monthly/quarterly financial statements working with department managers and staff to obtain necessary financial and payables information. •Compile data and enters actual and budget figures for expense and revenue into Great Plans accounting software in order to generate accurate and timely financial statements. •Balance subsidiary ledgers at end of month to ensure accuracy of financial statements. •Reconcile general ledger asset and liability accounts monthly for supervisor to review. •Maintain records for prepaid and trade accounts. •Assist with monthly Business Manager Report to include variance explanations, forecasting, and other related financial reports. Accounts Receivable: •Full cycle A/R to include post daily cash receipts, complete daily log reconciliation, monitor aging and cash in advance clients, process weekly/monthly billing, and review/verify the accuracy of billing adjustments prior to processing. •Enter new agencies and advertisers in VCI traffic system. •Process credit applications and review for credit worthiness; distribute and review aging with sales team. •Prepare monthly journal entries for revenue, cash receipts and adjustments. •Prepare A/R DSO, Bad Debt, AE and rep commissions and other related reports. •Interact with clients regarding invoices, payments and discrepancies. Accounts Payable: •Compile and verify all documents necessary such as purchase orders and packing slips in order to issue payment. •Obtain proper approval and ensure proper coding of expense is accurate. •Maintain all A/P files and reports. •Work with vendors to ensure invoices are received and paid within company guidelines. Respond to vendor inquiries. Other Duties: •Process quarterly payroll tax, annual business license fee, sales use tax and other related tax filings when needed. •Prepare quarterly market audit report. •Prepare bank reconciliations. •Assist with preparation of annual budget. •Provide back up for Business Manager. •Prepare financial analytics as requested by corporate and station management. •Other projects as needed.
