It's time to spring into festival season! The Bay Area's popular outdoor festival season officially kicks-off in Mountain View at this vibrant celebration of the arts which this year pays special tribute to Cinco de Mayo with two days of stellar live music, a juried arts and crafts show with 200 of the west coast's top artists showing their latest handcrafted wares, artisan specialty food purveyors, health and wellness displays, an organic and green products showcase, home and garden exhibits, festive food and drink with premium wine, microbrews, margaritas, sangria and mimosas, a farmers' market with fresh seasonal produce, a classic car show, plus captivating kids' amusements in the Tons of Fun Zone. •Live Music ... ten big name bands play an eclectic mix of classic rock 'n roll, rhythm and blues, jazz, contemporary country, Latin rock, dance and party music on stage and street throughout downtown. The lineup includes sensational live music performed by Mariachi Trio Estrellas De Oro, The Garage Band, Zebop, The Retro Rockets, The Bell Brothers, The Road Dogs, Bob Culbertson, Oscar Reynolds, Ancient Winds, and Emerson & The Growiser Band.
•Contemporary Fine Art, Cool Crafts ... 200 professional artists and craftspeople show their latest handcrafted work in ceramics, fiber, glass, fine art, jewelry, leather, metal, paper, sculpture, and wood. Vases, clocks, dishes, wall and table decorations, stained glass, etchings, sculptures, photography, paintings, beadwork, jewelry, vests, handbags, hats, wallets, footwear, windchimes, and waterfalls will be among the fine wares available.
•Festive Food & Drink ... chicken tikka masala, veggie samosas, spiced lamb and chicken pita sandwiches, salads, falafel, hefty tri-tip, pulled pork and beef brisket sandwiches, teriyaki chicken plates, sweet-and-spicy Peking chicken wraps, deep-fried catfish nuggets, jambalaya, baked beans, Cajun smoked andouille and Portuguese linguiça sausages, bratwurst, zesty calamari, bacon-wrapped hot dogs, beef, salmon and veggie burgers, teriyaki chicken and pork kabobs, tamales, tacos, quesadillas, made-to-order crepes, kettle corn, funnel cakes with fresh berries, mini brownie bites and cinnamon rolls. Plus premium wines, mimosas, margaritas, sangria and microbrews.
•Gourmet Specialty Food ... festivalgoers can sample and purchase artisan-produced edibles using the finest ingredients –– olive oil, barrel-aged vinegars, salad dressings, mustard blends, preserves, marinades, honey products, pepper, spices, nuts, Kona coffee and more.
•Classic Car Show ... car buffs will love A La Car & Art, a classic car show featuring the world's coolest hot rods, macho muscle cars, sleek sports cars and tricked-out low riders.
•Farmers' Market ... farm-fresh strawberries, apricots, cherries, organic produce, honey, almonds, pistachios, walnuts from the Mountain View Certified Farmers' Market.
•Kids' Tons Of Fun Zone ... ultra thrilling bungee jumping, hula hooping, a 24' climbing wall, one-of-a-kind themed inflatibles and bouncers, a remote-controlled NASCAR race track, plus super cool feather hair extensions, face painting and temporary henna tattoos.
The KOFY Crew will be onsite Saturday, May 3rd and will be playing fun games and giving away cool free prizes to winners. Come down and enjoy the best kick-off to the summer party the bay area has to offer!
