Professional Roller Derby is filled with strategic defensive moves that equate the Bombers with professional football. In each play or JAM as it's known, "jammers" or potential scorers are assigned the object of breaking out of the pack of skaters and lapping the field and passing opponents for a point; one point is scored for each opponent passed. Viewers of a roller derby JAM witness defensive screens where a whole team might create a defensive "wall" that will suppress the opponents offending effort. Team strategy uses all five team players in amazing formats that make the sport sizzle. Fans enjoy the positional moves, lateral blocks and "boxing in" of opponents that make for rival team strategy that only roller derby can offer.
