Let’s go! Let’s go! Let’s go! I’m a terrier. I’m tenacious and energetic and active and…well…all things action! I’d love a home that matches my quick wit, love of the outdoors, and super terrier skills. A handsome fellow such as myself deserves only the best!

I was picked up as a stray on these mean streets. Now, I think I am ready to settle down and find a home. I was very shy when first picked up, but I really seem to be coming out of my shell. The folks here do still recommend a quiet home with adults and possibly older children for me. A reward-based training class (like Just the Small Basics taught at The SF/SPCA) would work wonders for me. I bet I would love a tricks class too...can't you just see me showing off for all your friends?

I’m ready to party! I’m a young gal with oodles of energy and love, and I’m ready to parade into your life and get to having a life of love and fun! Other dogs are fantastic as far as I am concerned, and I would love to hang out with them on a regular basis. Doggy school, tricks class, and lots of time at the dog park – that’s the life for me!

I've had a bit of a rocky start - I was surrendered by my previous owner for being too much of a hound. You know...talking alot and asking for some serious activity. I'm no couch tater! I'm looking for someone who can play long games of fetch, keep me close by and will help me work on my confidence.

Adoption Information: A Leg Up Rescue <
Heidi arrived at the shelter holding her leg up. Heidi had a luxating patella (her knee cap was out of place) that has been repaired by our amazing orthopedist and veterinarian. With her knee cap in the proper place, she walks around like a normal dog. She weighs in at a mere four and a half pounds and loves to be with people. Heidi does not need to be with another dog; she's quite content to hang out by herself as long as you have a plush bed and cozy blanket for her. She is quiet and loving. She does have one quirk in that she always turns to the left. There is no neurological reason for it - trust us, she's received the best care just like the rest of the dogs in our program - it's just a "habit" she has developed and apparently enjoys. It could be that she was kept in a breeder box for much of her life and developed this behavior because she didn't have room to move. Whatever the reason, she's a gem of a dog and her adopter will get a lot of love from her beautiful personality.

Adoption Incormation: A Leg Up Rescue
Gidget has the most beautiful hazel eyes and is mainly white with brown markings. She is active & loves to play with toys & other small dogs. Gidget loves people and is an affectionate, cuddly lap dog. She lives with small dogs and a dog savvy cat in her foster home. She would be happiest if her adopter had another small dog in the home who would like a playmate. It is reccomended that because of her small size, Gidget should go to a mature home with children over twelve years old. When out for a walk, Gidget likes runners, bicyclists and skateboarders...a little too much...she thinks it's fun to chase them! She is learning that this isn't in her best interest - she is being desensitized to them on her walks with her foster mom. Gidget is a fast learner.
