Heidi arrived at the shelter holding her leg up. Heidi had a luxating patella (her knee cap was out of place) that has been repaired by our amazing orthopedist and veterinarian. With her knee cap in the proper place, she walks around like a normal dog. She weighs in at a mere four and a half pounds and loves to be with people. Heidi does not need to be with another dog; she's quite content to hang out by herself as long as you have a plush bed and cozy blanket for her. She is quiet and loving. She does have one quirk in that she always turns to the left. There is no neurological reason for it - trust us, she's received the best care just like the rest of the dogs in our program - it's just a "habit" she has developed and apparently enjoys. It could be that she was kept in a breeder box for much of her life and developed this behavior because she didn't have room to move. Whatever the reason, she's a gem of a dog and her adopter will get a lot of love from her beautiful personality.
