Sparkles, a 10 yr old Aus. Shep. mix just moved to the Bay Area from L.A. I adopted her as a 2 yr old in Los Angeles. In LA, there are not a lot of dog friendly places to go and a lot of my friends didn't have dogs so she didn't have any to play with. She had been neglected... left in a cage with other big dogs that beat her up. The scars still show. Here in Fremont, we have HUNDREDS of miles of off-leash parks to run in. This dog's life has changed dramatically. She is happier, healthier, younger, and calmer. We go hiking every other day and have such WONDERFUL adventures. She is truly my hiking buddy. Hercules belongs to the daughter of my fathers late companion. Hercules is the only dog Sparkles is comfortable enough to play with, most likely because he's small and non-threatening but playful and easy going!

Sparkles (big dog) only plays with Hercules, no other dog will do! Our two families have been close a long time!
