Tyronw was a stray dog who ended up lonely and sad at the Kauai Humane Society. He was Pet of the Week!..an honor given only to those pups on death row.
But when he sat so cute, not a peep to be heard while all dogs around him were putting on noisy, rambunctious shows well, Jack and Sara couldn't resist.
The first order of business was to change Tyrone's name. Yelling Tyrone on the beach, on walks, at the park, etc did not feel right to Jack or Sara. Duke suited him perfectly, and he thought so too.
While he loved his new life, Duke suffered from itchy, sensitive skin, sore legs, and difficulty making outside to pee.
Lucky for Duke, Sara and Jack worked on all these problems, and then prepared Duke for the biggest change in his life.
At four years old, Duke boarded a plane to LA. After cruising Malibu, Santa Monica, and Topanga Canyon for a weekend, Duke, Sara, and Jack embarked on a road trip to Marin. Duke saw seals, sea otters, huge cliffs, forest fires, boardwalks, and lots of new dogs. These photos capture only a few pieces of his wold journey.
Duke now lives around the corner from a lovely dog park in Mill Valley.
