Colorado Theater Shooting Suspect Plans to Plead Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity

According to a report from the Denver Post on Tuesday, the accused shooter in last summer's theater shooting in Colorado that left 12 people dead and 70 injured plans to plead not guilty by reason of insanity to charges filed in connection with the July 2012 shooting.

The lawyers for James Holmes revealed the plea plans in a court filing on Tuesday, according to the Denver Post report. The plea could become official next week during Holmes' next scheduled court appearance, according to the Denver Post report.
