Will New Two-Factor Authentication Prevent Your Twitter Account From Being Hacked?
Are you a Twitter user? Has your account ever been hacked? If so, you will soon be able to likely prevent that from happening again.
After several high-profile security breaches over the last year, including the recent hack of the Associated Press feed, the microblogging giant on Wednesday announced it was fighting back against hacking by introducing two-factor authentication to protect member accounts.
According to a post on the official Twitter Blog:
Every day, a growing number of people log in to Twitter. Usually these login attempts come from the genuine account owners, but we occasionally hear from people whose accounts have been compromised by email phishing schemes or a breach of password data elsewhere on the web.
